I wanted something filling on my way from Sacramento to Nevada City and saw that Dad's was close by! The show is small but inviting and it was warm enough to sit outside to eat. I went with the hot chicken sandwich and a twist on a classic Arnold Palmer. They were out of the side I wanted so I went for the potato salad, which was just okay. The sandwich was yummy and filling and I had enough for a lunch the next day. Prices were affordable and I would definitely go back again!
I love food, this place scratched my itch for a sandwich. Full of ingredients to have multidimensional flavors hitting. The messiness of it was an experience but im glad bc the price was up there for sure. Funny art inside too. Front desk guy was chill and the music playing was top tier. Wouldve ate outside hut it was raining
Baja chicken was absolutely delicious the chicken is beyond flavorful, juicy, and yet has a lil burnt edges flavor that I adored as a kid watching my dad grill. The added veggies help hold in the juices that ultimately lead to a very mesmerizing display of dancing tastebuds. Don't get me wrong it can get a lil messy so be careful (definitely worth the risk ). I appreciate the team and chefs! Thank you for the wonderful meal!
One of my favorite sandwich places - they have a vegetarian sandwich and a vegetarian hot dog! Very filling and would recommend! What a great hole in the wall spot. Service was also great
Came to Sacramento from Oakland to see The Devil Wears Prada Tuesday, and prior to driving up, I did my research on food spots near the Ace of Spades that would catch my eye. Immediately I saw that Dad's was really close to the venue, the building's tiny, but definitely a cozy and awesome aesthetic going on. I fell in love with the find--the outside and inside aesthetic. Not only that, but reading through reviews as well as seeing the pictures to what they've got to offer. And sure enough, they delivered big time! I immediately drove straight to Dad's and ordered a Capitol Club and a drink they would personally recommend, went with the Dr. Sprecher(need to go back sometime soon to try their lemonade)! They have super friendly and chill staff, very patient with my newbie butt, can't thank them enough for that and the amazing food! I'm for sure going to Dad's any and every time I go back to Sacramento!! (I know the owner's gonna read this, I just want to thank you guys so much, the food was great--love what you guys have there, definitely will be back!!)
The sandwich was scrumptious, fulfilling, and tasty but for the price it wasn't over the top for us. We still really enjoyed it and luckily we got the hefty size to share amongst two ppl and it was just enough along with a bag of chips. But at $18 a sandwich it was a bit pricy for us had we ordered our own sandwiches each. It was loaded but small in a sense for deli sandwich for that price. Place is a cute and different. You order and dine outside or pick up Togo through their window out to the side. We really like the cover patio area to enjoy our meal all. It site right outside the Main Street. The other thing is, it's midtown so now actual parking lot of the deli shop. You have to ride side street parking and walk. The guy upfront was friendly but minimal conversation kept it quick and short. Didn't mind it, but did notice he didn't ask if we mated chip or drinks we went o grab the chips on our own.
A Sacramento staple, Dad's satisfies all cravings. Although they don't offer any discounts to actual dad's (I asked) I would gladly pay full price for their amazing food. They're serving up some huge sandwiches packed with tasty meats and any toppings you'd like on the softest of breads. The interior of this place is small as it's really just a takeout place. There is seating outside pending weather. The cashier was really friendly and patient as we decided what to order. Went with the Mac & cheese, a salad for my mom, and the governator sandwich and also a turkey and avocado sandwich. Went outside to wait and within 15 minutes everything was ready to go. One bite into my sandwich and I was ecstatic. The pastrami was juicy, the avocado creamy, the sandwich was dripping with sauce and the soft ciabatta bread held it all together. I couldn't have ordered a more perfect sandwich. The macaroni and cheese was awesome too and I would order it again on my next visit. The total for 2 large sandwiches, a pretty big salad, a plain hot dog for my son and mac and cheese was $61. Worth every penny. Dad's sandwiches left this dad super happy and I can't wait to return again.
Portland/Las Vegas guy here... I've tried a lot of sandwich places, always hoping to find the best of the best, but I just haven't found THE PLACE until now! Dad's Sandwiches are remarkable. My husband and I stopped by on a roadtrip recently, and loved the place so much we decided to organize our schedule such we could stop on the way home as well. I ordered the Baja Bird (Twice) and loved every bite. The sandwich is flavorful and juicy, and packed with delicious avocado, chicken, bacon and fresh veggies. The bread is flakey on the outside, and buttery and delicate inside. There's generally a wait on the weekends, but I promise you... hold steady, because these sandwiches are worth the wait! My husband ordered the tri-tip sandwich the first time we visited, but they were unfortunately sold out of that specific sandwich. They offered to substitute the beef for turkey and added extra cheese free of charge. (I thought that was kind of them) The second time we visited he was able to order the tri-tip and said it was the best he's ever had. Now here's the sad part... these folks are in Sacramento and I only make it to town once or twice a year. That's just too long to wait until I can start working my way through the rest of their menu. If you're a local, RUN to Dad's and tell them Nico sent you. I see an amazing sandwich in your future!
